Even though I've read this before, I had forgotten that we meet the Governor and he shows his true colors from the get go. I would have skipped the back half if I had remembered (see trigger warning).

Again, Robert Kirkman obviously doesn't like women very much. The women in the comics are one dimensional and sex crazed; Maggie and Glenn are going at it almost constantly. Carol's had a mental breakdown thanks to what happened in the previous comic and now has decided she's in love with the two people who have showed her the most kindness. Lori's ready to give birth any minute, Andrea's just going with the flow to a point, though she still wants to be out there doing SOMETHING - not just laundry. I dislike Michonne intensely because of what she did with Tyreese, but most of all, I was surprised to see Patricia in this. I totally forgot about her.

Thankfully someone had the common sense when creating /writing for the show that they'd give the women backbones and make them tough as nails as the story unraveled. Those women I admire, even if most people hated Lori, I didn't.

Can't forget about the men! Rick's dealing with just having one hand after him and Tyreese tried to kill each other last issue. Hershel's managed to rope everyone into putting a garden together right quick, though I wonder where the seeds came from.

Of course, Rick, Glenn, and Michonne take off to find out where a sudden helicopter that appeared went down and find themselves in trouble thanks to the introduction of The Governor. Ugh. I hate the whole storyline that encompasses him.

Overall, the action keeps going at a steady pace and the storyline is solid, Governor arc be damned.

Trigger Warning: There is talk of rape towards the back half of the book.
