    My name is David Harris . I want to share this story because it’s one of the main reasons I became politicized by what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. called Nonviolent Resistance for active political change. Back then, I was just a Seaman out of Class A Radioman School in Bainbridge, Maryland. It was my first duty station on Little Creek Amphibious Base, Norfolk, Virginia, Room 306.

    The way I’ll write this tale down, I’ll try to place you in the scenes as they happen. I am now seventy-six-years-old, incapacitated by paralysis from an automobile accident that’s placed me in this nursing home, so I want this story told before I leave this mortal coil. My wife, Bonnie, and I never had children. She’s now dead. I know history repeats itself, and I see it happening again, today, as the voting rights are again being changed and manipulated, and the racist actions by the police are coming back, if they ever left, and even some of the names are the same.
