Abstract A dependence of the behavior of the transmitting
antenna height h1 on a path length of the radio wave propagation was investigated. Probability distributions of the transmitting antenna height h1 and a dependence of the behavior of the
distribution parameters on a path length of the radio wave
propagation were obtained.
l. Introduction
The transmitting antenna height h1 is applied in radio wave
propagation models such as Okamura-Hata and Rec. ITU-R
P.1546 for a field strength or propagation losses. The antenna
height h1 is the height of the antenna above average terrain
height in the direction of the receiving antenna and it has a random number.
lll. Conclusion
Distribution of the significance transmitting antenna height
h1 can be described according to Laplas law. The value h1 is equal
to the transmitting antennas height under grounds level htx. With
increasing of the paths length the standard deviation of the
meaning h1 changes its size from 3 to 13 meters. The possibility of
using htx instead of h1 leads to increasing of a miscalculation.
Standard deviation of losses with replacing htx, instead of h1,
increases with increasing of the paths length and decreases with
increasing of the htx. The results of research allow making
simplified accounts of losses with determined miscalculation with
the help of Okamura-Hata models using htx instead of h1.
