Anti pyretic analgesic

Decreases fever by inhibiting the effects of pyrogens on the hypothalamic heat regulating center and by a hypothalamic action leading to sweating and vasodilatation .Relieves pain by inhibiting prostagl and in synthesis at the CNS but does not have anti-inflammatory action because of its minimal effect of peripheral prostaglandin synthesis

Contraindicated in patients hypersensitive to drug

a rash hypotension (low blood pressure) when given in hospital by infusion (a continuous drip of medicine into a vein in your arm) liver and kidney damage, when taken at higherthan-recommended doses (overdose)
