BALANCED BOOK DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM

Identification of Problem: Many First year students exchange their books with the commencement of even semesters. Students who were in the Physics cycle initially buy books related to the chemistry cycle and vice versa. However it is noticed that in spite of selling their First semester books they end up paying Rs. 500 600 to the book sellers.

Goal: To provide a low cost solution to students of the first year to reduce their expenditure on books in the Second semester by at least 60%. Description: Promotion: The Idea will be promoted by 5 minute brief of the concept in the Second semester classes as well as word to mouth publicity. Location of selling: Suitable location allocated by the college authorities. Duration: Different days will be allotted for issuing orders and delivery. The total duration may last 3-7 days. Source of Inventory (Books): Students perform the dual role of source of inventory as well as consumers. Minimum number of books which students must mandatorily exchange is 3 and maximum is 5. A standard list of books for exchange will be drawn considering their popularity and price. Delivery and conclusion of the trade: The ordered books will be delivered if available on a pre-decided date. If the books are not available the amount if paid will be returned on the same date.
