Math Connections

Serving 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students School Year 2012-2013 Trailer behind building Rm 501 Teacher: Liz Fann Email address: lizfann@pickens.k12.ga.us Phone Number: (706) 253-1760 extension 501 Course Description: This class is designed to provide extra support for the math student. Students will learn quick fixes for common computation errors and ways to improve their overall math skills. The content of each class will be based on the Georgia Performance Math Standards (GPS) for each corresponding grade level. The teacher will be in close communication with all regular math teachers in each grade level. The class will be structured in a way that remediates skills, provides organizational support, and offers additional CRCT practice for the math student. Students will have opportunities to increase their content knowledge and review their progress by using the ILEARN and Success Maker Math program. Requirements: All students are required to bring their regular math class binder, math book, agenda, and pencils preferably with erasers to class daily. Grading: Students will be graded based on their completeness and correctness of class activities and their individual progress in ILEARN. Progress in these programs will be monitored and charted weekly. Students will NOT have homework in this class and therefore their grade is reflective of what they completed in class.
