BADMINTON TOURNAMENT
INTRODUCTION
This badminton tournament organized by Badminton club in Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ilmu Khas is to develop the interest of student in badminton games. This tournament is also a chance for those who are excellent in badminton to practice and improve their basic skills so that they can become a better player in future. The tournament will be held in Dewan Dato Razali of Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Ilmu Khas on 24th September 2012 From the process of preparing this tournament, students can apply their event managing skill in order to make this tournament a success. Besides that, students can also revise the skills that they had learned during co-curriculum activities. It is very important for the students to truly understand the rules of badminton games so that we can have a fair and perfect tournament. Other than that, this tournament is held so that students can learn about the importance of team work. Teamwork enables students to finish their work systematically and on time. Students also can improve their self-confidence throughout the process of preparing this tournament.

PURPOSES
To give chance to the participants to experience by themselves being in a softball tournament. To teach the participants the importance of cooperation in a team To teach the participants to understand and follow the rules of badminton. To teach the participants to keep holding on and not to give up easily in a tournament To produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically excellent.

MAIN AIMS
One of the main aims of this program is to make students realize the importance of understanding the rules of badminton. In the same time, this tournament will allow all the members of badminton club to experience the real tournament. They are given opportunity to organize it and be a contestant too. Besides that, this tournament also can produce a healthy and

lovable relationship between students from different background. It is also intended to produce a good player so that he or she can make our country proud in future. In addition, this activity is also a good chance to test the ability of students in both physical and mental. They also can learn to improve their self-confidence and selfesteem throughout the tournament. They also can learn to plan strategies better and criticize their thinking to give out thoughtful ideas.

GAME FORMAT
We are using best of 1 game Format for round 1, 2 and quarter finals. While for semi finals and finals we are going to employ best of 3 games format. This kind of game format becomes our choice because it consumes lesser time compared to the other type of game format.

JUDGMENT
The umpires, service judges and linemen are from IPIK Badminton Club as this tournament will be their platform to apply their knowledge about badminton rules and regulations. Only 4 persons instead of 8 will be linemen because we are short of people. So, badminton club members who are free and not umpiring any match will be the linemen. In order to prevent any complication, no one is allowed to argue with the umpires decision.

RECOMMENDATION (SAFETY FEATURES)


The correct type of shoes should be worn by all players. Players are required to wear proper sports attire suitable to the demands of the game. Only legal badminton rackets and shuttlecocks should be used. Always wear badminton equipment that is medically necessary, such as knee braces or tensor bandages if you are prone to injuries. Racket grips should be kept dry to prevent unintentionally throwing the racket during swings. The badminton net must be properly secured to prevent collapsing, with the net poles free from sharp edges and any tripping hazards. During game play, all official badminton rules should be followed to ensure fairness and safety. All players must warm up before the game to reduce the chances of muscle and joint injuries. Take small quantities of water or isotonic sports drinks both before play and at intervals during play to avoid dehydration. Always keep your racket head up so that you can intercept any shuttle which is coming towards your face. When leaving your court, remember not to cross too close behind any other court where play is in progress

CONCLUSION
We hope this paper work will be consider favorably because it will bring positive effects not just to the participants but also to this club members as they can learn and practice the soft skills in handling an event. A big thanks to all parties involved, directly or indirectly in making this softball tournament paperwork. 1. President i. Preside the event meetings and manages the smooth running of the event preparations. 2. Vice president i. Lead the marketing and promotion committee to ensure that the event marketed through banners, posters, flyers and t-Shirts. ii. Update the official website concerning latest developments about the event iii. Make the invitations list iv. Lead the meetings on the absence of the chairperson. 3. Secretary i. Lead the secretariat committee which is mainly responsible for registration, organization and activities ii. Ensure communication before the festival iii. Responsible for registration of teams and compiling games results iv. In charge of umpires v. Designing score sheets. vi. Compiling reports after the festivals (evaluation) vii. Invitation of clubs, guests & associations 4. Treasurer i. Lead the fundraising committee which is responsible looking searching sponsorship ii.
