Why has the disease attracted so much attention in all

countries of the world?

Throughout human history one type of disease or another has threatened the very survival of the human species at one time or another.
Some of the diseases have included bubonic plague, cholera, and other sexually transmitted diseases such as syphilis, and recently HIV/AIDS.

At the different stages in the human history different

efforts and actions have been taken to stem the effects these diseases bring along.
The attention these diseases have attracted have

usually been medical in nature. However since the detection of the HIV/AIDS effort s and actions have gone beyond the medical field into all spheres of life.

The disease affects people of all countries, cultures and

different economic status


The disease is mainly associated with sexual activity

(80%) Sexual activity is the means by which human being come into existence, any disease that is associated with sexual activity implies a threat to the future survival of the human species.

The spread of HIV/AIDS can be controlled. There are other disease that are also connected with

the genitals which sometimes can interfere with the genitals and therefore sexual activity.

We differentiate between these diseases 1. The first group of diseases are termed Reproductive tract infections (RTIs)
2.

The second group are diseases spread through sex and are therefore termed sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
