The HR function at SRF envisions creating and nurturing an organisation where economic prosperity and growth, organisational effectiveness and human well-being go hand-in-hand. It is our constant endeavor to create an environment where people feel comfortable in expressing their feelings, opinions, views and suggestions without any fear of reprisal. SRF provides an open environment to all employees with respect to freedom, empowerment and expression. Our credo of approachability and transparency finds shape in many ways, including an 'open house' where employees can raise their concerns with the management directly. Every idea is valued, and implementation of new initiatives is strongly encouraged by the organisation. Following the philosophy of Kaizen, we believe that every incremental step towards improvement propels the organisation towards operational excellence. At the same time, understanding the fact that breakthrough initiatives often enable organisations to leapfrog to the next level, SRF encourages and rewards bigger improvements through other mechanisms.

History The company was established in 1970, as Shri Ram Fibres Limited, by DCM Limited as a wholly owned subsidiary. Its initial focus was on the manufacture of nylon cord fibres for tyres. Its first manufacturing plant was set up in Manali, near Chennai, in 1973.[2] Over the years, the company diversified its product offerings into technical textiles, engineering plastics, chemicals and packaging films. In 1990, it changed its name to SRF Limited. In 1986, the company set up a joint venture with Denso, SRF Nippondenso, for the manufacture of automotive components. This was later spun off as a separate company in 1993. Another subsidiary, SRF Finance, started in 1986, was sold to GE Capital in 1997. SRF also had a health-care division which manufactured plastic optical lenses, which was spun off as a separate company in 1997.[3] SRF Limited was listed in the 2011 Asia's Best under a Billion list by Forbes magazine.[4] Operations
