The music video is postmodern in the way in which it has been film this is because the video is filmed as if it were a film which makes it different. The video can also be postmodern because there is a frequent nostalgic flow which is shown the mirrors, cut out of herself from newspapers and jewellery/objects with her initials on them. At the beginning of the video the use of subtitles makes the video seem vintage, this can also the being titles are postmodern as they are pastiche, they make the video look very old fashion and vintage which contrasts to the way in which the is seen through the location and the clothing being worn by Gaga. Irony is also used at the beginning of the video, the camera shows close-ups of flowers, the sky therefore setting the sense to be peaceful and calm which. However as strong contrast of chaos occur later on in the video. Intersexuality is seen through the black and white twirl background which symbolises James Bond, however then change to a 60s hypnosis which a shadow of her body spinning. Postmodern is shown through showing a newspaper headline such as Gaga hits rock bottom suggesting that she is dead however later on we find out she is not dead but is injured which is seen in the mid shot of her wearing a neck support. Pastiche is seen through the teapot on Gaga head can be seen as postmodern. The clothing in which is worn are very postmodern, this is because they are very weird and unrealistic, although she is seen to look her best at all times for example in when she has come out of her car/limo and when she is in going into jail this suggest she is trying a message to her audience. In the video we see her wearing outfits which are very different and unconventional which makes Gaga unique. She is also seen dressed in a robot like costume which is another example of pastiche as the costume has references to the film metropolis; a binary opposite is also used to show the different between robots and humans. Gaga is also seen as the Disney character mini mouse which is an example of intersexuality as it is a very popular character. The video also makes reference to herself by showing what has influenced her in her work therefore making the video postmodern.
