Examine Your Writing Process

ENC1101: Fall 2012 Benjamin

1. Task
Do an in-depth auto-ethnography of your own writing process. How do you write? Where do you write? Who do you discuss your writing with? How often do you rewrite? What strategies can you employ to assist you while writing? This assignment should include pictures of where you write, stories of who you discuss your writing with, screenshots of distractions and/or websites you visit while writing. How does the environment you write in and the process you create while writing allow/inhibit your writing as invention? Conclude the assignment with a constructive step-by-step writing process that constructively helps you to create texts.

Word length minimum, 1,000 words MLA format Written in a publication format that allows for multi-modal communication (can be PowerPoint, Prezi, Wix.com, Blog, Google Site, etc.) Demonstrates appropriate document design (title page, headers, etc) Points to strengths and weaknesses in your writing process Cites at least three references from in class readings Outlines a writing process that you can follow Demonstrates use of multi-media in drafting messages
