DAVID McNarry will this morning be unveiled as the UK Independence Partys first-ever MLA in a dramatic move that gives the euro-

sceptic party its first foothold in any of the UKs devolved assemblies. The veteran Ulster Unionist, who was axed by the party in May, has decided to join UKIP just four months after being expelled by the UUP following a protracted

public row with the then leadership. The move is particularly ironic as Mr McNarry exited the UUP after a failed attempt to broker unionist unity, but his decision to join UKIP will now increase the number of unionist parties

in the Assembly to four. UKIP leader Nigel Farage and deputy leader Paul Nuttall will speak beside their most high-profile Northern Ireland member at a Press conference in Stormont this morning. Turn to page 8
