2013 APPLIED FINANCE CONFERENCE CO-SPONSORED BY THE JOURNAL OF APPLIED FINANCE AND ST. JOHNS UNIVERSITY THE NEW WORLD OF GLOBAL FINANCE, MARKETS, INVESTMENTS, AND RISK MANAGEMENT May 17, 2013 - New York, NY
The Third Annual Applied Finance of the Financial Management Association International (FMA) will be held Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. John's University's Manhattan campus. We seek high-quality papers from scholars and practitioners that: Are relevant to financial practice. Address issues relevant to global finance, markets, investments, and/or risk management. Offer innovative or unusually insightful approaches to contemporary issues related to the conference theme. About the conference: Submissions to the conference are not considered submissions for review for the Journal of Applied Finance unless authors request consideration by JAFs editorial team. The Conference will be much smaller than our traditional meetings and will include a relatively small number of papers to provide ample opportunity for presentations and discussion by participants. Criteria used to select papers for the program include the nature of the problem, implications of the proposed research, the quality of the research design, and the expected contribution of the research to practice. Honorariums will be awarded to presenting authors of papers accepted for the conference.
