In line with its thrust to enhance student learning through participation in community affairs MANAGEMENT, the MPA Program

will launch this November the implementation of the August Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) entered into by the Ifugao State University with the Barangay of Pieza and the Municipality of Lamut. This MOA provides for partnership among the three parties in terms of project identification, implementation and monitoring, and will be for a term of three years. The first round of project identification that was conducted in September with barangay leaders pointed to the immediate need to replace by end of November the floormat of the Barangay Day Care Center in order to promote safety of the preschoolers. Other immediate needs which were set to be addressed by end of this year are capability building activities that include learning sessions on parliamentary procedure in conducting meetings for barangay leaders, maternal and child health for parents and solid waste management for students and the youth. These will all be addressed through the MPA Programs collaboration with its students, the Municipal and Provincial Government and the Department of Agrarian Reform. Other activities such as barangay development planning, resource accessing, and enterprise development are set for further discussion to identify more partners and co-implementors.
