Bethlehem or Bust!

Choreography Notes by Rachel Martin

The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Options: The whole Choir and The Spider Sisters can sing the song and do the traditional The Itsy Bitsy Spider movements; or The Spider Sisters can sing a solo and do the somewhat revised traditional movements, listed below. If only The Spider Sisters do the motions listed below, then the Choir can stand with feet slightly apart while moving arms from side to side (like windshield wipers) to the beat of the song while leaning L-R throughout the song. Everyone ends the song on Yeah! with straight arms up high overhead/palms facing forward/jazz hands/looking up-Hold The Spider Sisters: They need to be front and center on stage; spread out in a row so they can all be seen. They start crouched down with their (real) legs and arms tucked under body/looking down at floor/spider costume legs should be out to the sides. Start wiggling body while crouched down so the spider legs start moving during the Instrumental Intro. Spider Sisters or All: Spider Sisters: (Hips/body need to be
moving during the whole song.) The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout Slowly move from down low to a standing position/wiggling body so that spider legs are moving (like they are climbing up)/looking forward from this point on Raise jazz hands high overhead/palms forward/straight arms-Wiggle fingers/slowly moving hands from high to low (ending in front of stomach) Turn hands so palms are facing down/fingers spread apart/hands overlapped, but not touching-Bring hands out to sides Bring jazz hands high overhead/palms forward-Slowly move hands apart from high to low(circle motion)-End with

Down came the rain and

Washed the spider out

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
