The Battier Take Charge Foundation was established by NBA basketball star Shane Battier and his wife Heidi to provide resources for the development and education of at risk youth and teens through a college scholarship program. Through Take Charge, the Battiers seek to encourage and inspire a new generation of leaders through educational opportunities and the cultivation of effective leadership skills. Students chosen to receive four-year scholarships from the Take Charge Foundation have a desire to change the world, whether it be through participating in conservation efforts in Africa, advancing technological innovation related to electricity or helping underprivileged teens through social work. The Battier Foundation not only provides scholarship funding for these students, but also mentoring in this hands-on foundation program. Shane Battier returns to Washington with the Miami Heat on December 3. Please join us to congratulate Shane on his latest championship and support The Battier Take Charge Foundation.
