Nanotechnology is molecular manufacturing or, more simply, building things one atom or molecule at a time with programmed nanoscopic robot arms. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter (3 - 4 atoms wide). Utilizing the well understood chemical properties of atoms and molecules (how they"stick" together), nanotechnology proposes the construction of novel molecular devices possessing extraordinary properties. The trick is to manipulate atoms individually and place them exactly where needed to produce the desired structure Things behave substantially differently in the micro domain. Forces related to volume, like weight and inertia, tend to decrease in significance. Forces related to surface area, such as friction and electrostatics, tend to become large. And forces like surface tension that depend upon an edge become enormous. These anomalous behaviors of nanomaterials exactly differs from their material of origin and implementations of these properties can bring up many structural, behavioural, changes of materials that we use in our daily life. Using nanotechnology can lead to low cost manufacturing solutions as well as adjustable, empowering devices, bringing us new, versatile possibilities. These mobile devices will be flexible, stretchable and shape changing, so that they can be easily integrated in our everyday routines without special adjustments on our part. The existing technology of solar panel can be replaced by the new ones which uses NANOWIRES. Batteries made of CNT can replace traditional batteries of any electronic system. Implementation of nanotechnology in electronics will reduce size and weight of peripherals. Nanotechnology will have its implications in numerous fields viz. Nanopowder, Membranes, Nano-molecular electronics, quantum computers, nanorobotics, Nano medicines
