Can model the problem using manipulatives. Makes sense of the problem by writing a subtraction number sentence. Can identify the number of objects in each group. Shows understanding that the lesser number is subtracted from the greater one. Uses the appropriate vocabulary (more/fewer) when writing their answer statement.
