An energy source which can be replenished in a short period of time

Osmosis
The process of passage of any liquid from high concentration region to low concentration region through a semi permeable membrane is called Osmosis .

-Osmotic energy is the energy captured by exploiting the pressure difference at the boundary between fresh water and salt water. -It is also called BLUE ENERGY

Osmotic Power ,a technology that is

Flexible and versatile power Huge and unique Eco-friendly Competitive and high power generator that improves power system efficiency

Environmental Perspectives
Co2 free and renewable energy. Gentle environmental impact due to flexibility. Area efficient Power plant. No harmful emissions.

Commercial Potential
Great power potential and large scale Renewable energy sources. Constant and predictable energy production. Cost competitive with other new renewable energy sources. Eligible for GREEN Certificate.

Advantages

A big advantage is that it is a renewable energy Salt-water evaporation leads to precipitation over land. It has a minimal environmental impact The amount of heat that occurs in the process would raise the temperature less than half a degree Celsius, which is not harmful to the marine organisms.

Disadvantages
There is a problem with the protection of marine organisms from turbine and other machinery. Another big obstacle is COST.

Conclusion
Apart from its disadvantages because of versatility ,high efficiency and its eco-friendly nature we can consider it as a better alternative to other sources .
