SCOUTING
HAVE A SCHEDULE
Know whom and when you have to scout Know who is scouting whom

SCOUTING
SAVE TIME
Send frosh coaches or adjunct coaches to scout-doing this allows you to start breaking down film on Saturday, instead of waiting until Monday

SCOUTING
MAKE SURE YOUR SCOUTS KNOW HOW TO VIDEO
Tell/show them what you want Saves your having to guess whats going on

SCOUTING
SCOUT IN TEAMS (VARSITY STAFF) cameraman, talker, recorder
Write out game being taped Saves time breaking down that particular tape Break down tapes Saturday morning gives time to form ideas for staff meeting (crock-pot weekend)

Draw every formation, backfield set, motion and its mirror formation
List plays on respective side of formation List pass patterns with pass actions

MONDAY MEETING

TUESDAY THURSDAY
3rd down This is not done as a 4th down staff ; its completed independently Goal line 2nd down 1st down Special situations After 20+ run / pass After sudden change

PRACTICE
Individual -line TE/SE Team Variation line, combo, team View tape (as a team) after practice 1/2 line, combo and team are all scripted with all coaches having a copy of the script NOTE ON SCRIPT: Run all of one formation before going to next formation We will mix-up formations later in the week

SE-side plays:
Belly, Waggle, Sally

TE-side plays:
Buck sweep, Power, Trap, Counter

GAME DAY
DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR ON THE FIELD Talks with both defensive coaches in the box Sends in all calls Makes all substitutions

GAME DAY
Two coaches in the box Coach A records the game in sequence This info is used during game and at halftime This info verifies that we are playing the team we scouted Coach B records the game by down/distance/field position in order to ascertain/verify any situational tendencies

HALF TIME
Coaches and players both do their business Coaches - What are they doing? - What needs fixed? - What needs tweaked? Talk with players; go over changes and adjustments; be sure to draw things on the board

POST-GAME NOTES
Did they do what we expected? If they did something different, did it work? How did we adjust and did it work? What worked for them? What worked for us? Were there any major changes to the game plan? Changes/ideas for next year?
