INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES FOR NET & ARS EXAMINATIONS The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board shall henceforth conduct NET and ARS examinations separately. NET shall be conducted in all the 55 disciplines as prescribed for ARS, but twice in a year, while ARS examination will be held once in a year. The syllabus for NET and ARS examinations will be the same. NET Examination - 2012 (24 th February. 2013- Sunday) ( 10.00A.M. to 12.00 Noon) The NET Examination - 2012 will be conducted on 24.2.2013 (Sunday) at 33 examination centres in 55 ( fifty five) disciplines. NET-2012 examination shall have only one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective type questions and each question will have four options (a) (b) (c) & (d) to be solved in 2.00 hours (two hours) with answers to be marked on an OMR sheet. 1/3 rd mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The standard of question paper will broadly be that of a Master's degree of an Indian University. The number of attempts for appearing in the NET examination will be limited to 5 ( Five) for all the candidates ( whether M.Sc's / Ph.d) including the in-service candidates of ICAR. This restriction will not apply to SC/ST candidates, who are otherwise eligible.
