MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING WET AND DRY USING CENTRAL CONDUCTORS OR

COILS

1.1.

Purpose and scope

1.1.1. To provide Nondestructive (NDE) testing inspectors with a general inspection technique
for Wet or Dry Visible or Florescent Magnetic Particle Examination (M/T) methods using
Central Conductors, Head and Tail Shot and Coils.
1.1.2. This procedure and its applicable Appendices, when used with Customer
Specifications, shall define the requirements of welds, base materials and machined
parts in accordance with the Codes and Standards listed in the reference section of this
procedure.
