In Malaysia diving, Pandelela Rinong made a Malaysian diving history in the Olympic.

She became the first Malaysian to win a bronze madal in Olympic DivingWomen 10m platform. Her bronze is the first medal for the Malaysian contingent from a diving event. The 19-year-old Sarawakian scored the massive 359.2 points, 7 points and 63 points behind the silver and gold medalists. Pandelelas first dive in the final round was nail-biting, scoring only 58.50 points and placed her 10th among other finalists. Only her fourth and fifth managed to impress the judges, rewarding her with 81.60 and 76.80 points. But we believed after winning the medal at such a young age, Pandelela would continue to shine in the coming years. Besides that, her achievement would inspire others to take up diving as a competitive event.
