General Election: The final round of elections that determines which candidate will take an office. Section 3. Plan for Action Subsection 1 Candidate Fairness This act will make the pre-registration signature requirement of third party candidates equal to the amount that is required of the Democratic and Republican parties for all elections. The number of signatures will vary state to state due to the difference in each states initial requirements. If a candidate collects the number of signatures required, the state is required to put their name on the ballot for the consideration of the public. Subsection 1 Eliminating Parties on Ballots States will, also, be required to eliminate parties off of the general ballots for national elections. Primary ballots may still include the parties on them. In the place of the candidates party, states will be required to include a 3-4 sentence platform about each candidate in the election. SEC. 4 Enforcement This bill will be enforced by the Department of State for each state. SEC. 5 Effective Date This act will take effect in the 2014 election cycle.
