A temperature data logger, also called temperature monitor, is a measurement instrument that is capable of autonomously recording temperature over a defined period of time. The digital data can be retrieved, viewed and evaluated after it has been recorded. The proposed system is built using ARM7 based microcontroller. The microcontroller has an inbuilt ADC. A temperature sensor is connected to the analog channel of inbuilt ADC. This temperature sensor data is converted into digital using ADC. The microcontroller also has a wifi router interfaced to it. The converted data is sent to a mobile phone through the wifi interface and the data is logged. An Android application is developed for mobile phone to carry out this logging process and retrieve this logged data when it is required. The Android platform is the product of the Open Handset Alliance, a group of organizations collaborating to build a better mobile phone.

The embedded application for the temperature acquisition is developed using Keil Micro Vision IDE in embedded C.
