TECHNIQUE

ANESTHESIA
Regional (epidural) anaesthesia

SKIN INCISION
Paramedian incision about 15cm in length 1/3rd extending above the umbilicus

DEMERITS
Blood loss is more Apposition of margins is not perfect In post op , there is in hemorrhage and shock chance of peritonitis morbidity and mortality Scar is weak, more risk of scar rupture in future pregnancy

MERITS
Technically easy. Safer in transverse lie and placenta praevia
