Origin: The term origin is applied to the attachment which always or more commonly remains stationary when the muscle contracts. 2. Insertion: The term insertion is applied to the more movable attachment of the muscle.

3. Tendon: A tendon is a band of dense white fibrous tissue by means of which a muscle is attached. 4. Aponeurosis: It is a broad fibrous sheet which fulfils a similar function (as like that of tendon).
