INTRODUCTION No other singular town in the Philippines has witnessed as much of the countrys history than Malolos the heart of Bulacan, and the capital of the first albeit short-lived Philippine Republic. To cite all the historical events that transpired in Malolos, one could very well fill a good-sized book. Propaganda movement was most active in the town of Malolos. The major events especially those that revolved around the first Republic which was also the first republic government established in Asia cannot be left unmentioned. Throughout that period, many landmarks and buildings have housed the activities of both common and prominent people, events that up to now are regarded important in the passages of Maloloss history. Examples are the Barasoain Church, which served as an office for constitutional conventions; the Malolos Cathedral or Basilica Minore, considered as Malacaang Palace at the time; the ancestral houses at Sto. Nio used as offices for the various departments of the government; the Imprenta Nacional, now Casa Real, which was first a printing press before it became the museum known today. These buildings have played a large part in the historical and cultural identity of Malolos that they need to be preserved well in order to tell their story to people and instill pride in them for having a rich and diverse heritage, passed down for generations to come the role taken up by a town tourism center. A tourism center provides tourists information, advices about trips and excursions, and publicizes organized tours about historical or cultural sites of a place. They also preserve and maintain the condition of a site or landmark, and exercise damage control over structures. They also help generate income for the localitys development through other tourism-related projects.
