1. Theexamination
Theexaminationconsistsof3sections: ObservedStructuredClinicalExamination(OSCE) DentalManikinExercise UnseenCase(DiagnosisandTreatmentPlanningtesting) Theexaminationwillbeheldoveraperiodof2days,twiceperyeardependingon candidatedemand.

2. Venues
TheassessmentswillbeheldincentralLondon,predominantly: OSCE TheRoyalCollegeofSurgeonsofEngland UnseenCase TheRoyalCollegeofSurgeonsofEngland DentalManikinExercise QueenMaryUniversityofLondon

3. Generalinformationandinstructionsforallsectionsoftheexamination
1. Candidates should wear appropriate clothing for a professional examination and maintainaprofessionalappearance. a) Nohandjewellerywhenworkingwithinstruments. b) Footwearsuitableforworkinginadentalsurgeryi.e.closedtoedshoes. 2. Candidates are advised that no printed or written materials, mobile phones, PDAs or othersourcesofreferencesmaybeboughtintotheexaminationrooms. 3. Thefireregulationsinoperationatthevenuehavetobeobserved.Abriefingwillbe givenatthestartoftheexamination. 4. Infectioncontrolguidelineshavetobeobserved.

4. Levelofcompetence
ThepassmarkhasbeensetbytheRoyalCollegeofSurgeonsofEnglandtobenobetterandno worsethanthestandardachievedbyanUKundergraduatedentalstudentoncompletionofa courseofstudyfollowingTTFYwhentakinghis/herfinalBDSexams. 2
