After reading this article, we can learn from a leaders point of view the characteristics of American management and what makes it so successful. This specific publication seeks to find the relationship between the influence on management versus a firms performance. From the article, It is evident that firms which were well managed were considerably more successful than poorly managed firms, thus achieving higher stock values and revenues. Moreover, the author then states that management but specifically overall management, in manufacturing, retail and healthcare sectors are superlatively managed when compared to less developed countries. Furthermore, the United States great success in management is summarized in three points: 1) A higher level of competition this forces firms to constantly innovate their products and grow their business in order to survive in the current market

Ahmed Al Haddad ENGR 409 Section 001 Leadership Abstract 2) A higher percentage of Americans attend college meaning they are better equipped with the skills and knowledge to manage and lead. 3) A higher flexiblity within Americas labor market therefore making it easier to fire employees who are not performing well and do not believe in the companys vision and values.

I have learned that there is a fine line between managing and leading and as leaders we must constantly thrive for a highly skilled and efficient management. If we truly want to survive in this fierce competitive world we must continue to develop and train our selves to update our skills and seek to innovate our products and also study how other firms are dealing with failures and what makes firms in the United States the true leaders in the business management field.
