Grade 4 Overview Sunday 03/03/2013 Thursday 07/03/2013. *** Concert Practices *** We will be practicing some of our songs this week for the concert. Ask your child if they know the songs they need to sing. Maybe even have a little concert in your home; have your child perform the songs for family members. Report Writing each student has an inventor that they need to research and gather information on. This week we will work on using this information to write a report on this inventor. Talk to your child about their inventor and ask them questions about them. 7.1: Review of Basic Fraction Concepts To review fractions as parts of a whole (ONE), fractions on number lines, and uses of fractions. 7.2: Fractions of a set To provide practice finding fractional parts of sets.

Central idea: Inventors utilize energy in the development of technologies that meet the needs of a society. Lines of inquiry: The needs of a society Inventors that have impacted society How inventors utilize resources to meet a societies needs We are investigating forces in the world around us. Looking at PUSH and PULL forces and how energy is transferred when this are operating. We will also be looking at electricity and how it has been used by inventors to better our world. Discuss at home the many uses of electricity and how it might work.
