1.  I hereby request a temporary Leave of Absence from the Indiana Guard Reserve

2.  I understand that my Time In Grade (TIG) will continue to be counted, provided that I am taking 
this Leave of Absence due to supporting the War on Terror. 

3.  I understand that my Time In Grade (TIG) will be readjusted upon my return to active IGR, 
provided that I am taking this Leave of Absence for personal reasons (ie. Job demands, family 
situations). 

4.  I understand that should my Time In Grade (TIG) be counted, I still must meet the promotion 
eligibility requirements of the current IGR Regulation 10­4 before being promoted to the next 
higher grade. 

5.  I understand that while on a leave of absence, any unit awards or decorations for which the unit 
becomes eligible, that I would not be eligible if I am absent during the award period. 

6.  I understand that after my Temporary Leave of Absence has expired that I must return to active 
status with the IGR or submit a request for discharge/retirement. 

7.  I understand that should I not return to active IGR status upon termination of my Temporary 
Leave of Absence, or submit for an extension of leave, the IGR could discharge me for failure to 
participate. 

8.  I understand that I must keep my unit informed of my intentions and status.
