Introduction

The word Virtual refers to nearly as described, but not completely or according to strict definition A virtual key board is a keyboard that a user operates by moving fingers on an opticaldetectable surface rather than by pressing the physical keys.

Why Is It Invented???

Since the invention of computers, they had undergone rapid miniaturization All the components grew small in size, but the only component remained for decades is keyboard. Since miniaturization of traditional keyboard is very difficult virtual key board is designed

Detecting Keys

In one technology, the keyboard is projected optically on a flat surface and, as the user touches the image of a key, the optical device detects the stroke and sends it to the computer In another technology, the keyboard is projected on an area and selected keys are transmitted as wireless signals using the short range blue tooth technology

With either approach, a virtual keyboard makes it possible for the user of a very small smart phone or a wearable computer to have full keyboard capability

Technology

Uses Highly Advanced Laser Technology to project a full sized keyboard Using Laser Technology, a bright red image of keyboard is projected from a device on to an area Detection technology based on optical recognition allows users to tap the images of the keys so the virtual keyboard behaves like a real one

Features

Size of fountain pen Camera tracks finger movements It eliminates finger cramping (Pain) Supports any typing speed Provides QWERTY keyboard layout

Advantages

Portability Accuracy Speed of text entry Flexibility Keyboard layouts can be changed

Disadvantages
Expensive Doesnt work properly on an uneven surface

Conclusion

So, by using virtual keyboard we can reduce the space occupied by the traditional keyboard and also it reduces the finger cramping
