Campus Tour
By Claire Walker, Director of Physical Education Friday, October 12, 2012, Lower School students toured the 89 acres of our beautiful campus and discovered all the Upper School FedEx projects. We used pedometers to track our steps. Do you know how many steps it takes to get from the lower school to all the FedEx projects?
Volleyball Court to Ping Pong Tables we are at 1632 steps: we discovered 2 tables and it looked like fun! Lower School gym to the Dock at the Pond is 629 steps we discovered picnic tables, a gate and lock, and a very large dock. Pond to birdhouse we are now at 689 steps: we did not see any birds in the house. Dragon Box to Tennis Shed we are at 1832 steps: we discovered it holds equipment for the Upper School tennis team. Birdhouse to Baseball Score Board we are at 880 steps: we discovered you climb the steps and hang the scorecards on the hooks after each inning. Score Board to Amphitheater is at 1220 steps: we discovered a stage (3 sides had steps, 3 sections of benches with 7 rows each); the benches were on a hill so the last row could see as well as the first row (that is important to Lower School students). Vegetable Garden to Pull-up Bars come to a total of 2098 steps it was too high for us. Amphitheater to Volleyball Court is at 1503 steps: we discovered pvc pipes to make the border of the court; cement to keep poles in the ground; and lots of mulch for the playing surface.

Ping Pong Tables to Dragon Box we were at 1645 steps: we discovered it holds Upper School recess equipment.

Tennis Shed to Garden we are at 2007 steps: we discovered lots of plants and maybe some flowers were grown we had questions; what happened to the plants and vegetables from the garden?

Finally, we walked to Field #2 so we could look at at the Dragon Stadium for a total of 3112 steps!
