Group Design Project Group Members: Luke Brisebois Richard Aramenko Project Description: Our proposed project is a guitar

tuner. This would consist of microphone for input and a simple light display to indicate the note and tune, as well as an on button and a button to cycle through your desired notes. It could possibly implement a line in for an electric guitar depending on available materials. Type of MCU: We plan on using a PIC16F73 for our project. We chose this microcontroller mainly for its 5 channels of 8-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converters. It also has 2 capture/compare/PWM functions and is relatively easy to program with only 35 single word instructions. Design Challenges: Determining the amount of time a note must resonate to be compared to. Implementing the microphone. Properly capturing and storing the frequency of a correct note.

Group Member Roles: Luke Brisebois Making all block diagrams and circuit boards. Responsible for all musical data and equipment. Richard Aramenko Programming the microcontroller. Gathering the proper materials for the project. Note: both group members will work together on various parts of the project. Timeline: October 18: all necessary materials gathered November 1: block diagrams and coding outline November 9: complete assembly code November 18: working prototype
