ABSTRACT

Libraries are established for the systematic collection, organization, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and information. It is very important for man to preserve and maintain the valuable knowledge and information contained in the books and documents because we want to preserve our knowledge and wisdom for the coming generations Therefore this study is very important in is context that it will give us the accurate stipulation of school library and how, secondary and elementary school libraries canned be improve. The real place of secondary and elementary school libraries existing now a day school are as important as universities due to these reasons the secondary and elementary school library is a major vehicle for endorse the educational The research study explores the use of libraries and facilities in elementary schools that most of the school libraries are far away from the classrooms and the books are supplied to them very curtly which is not pragmatic approach. On other side of picture some schools have separate room for library which is well equipped with light and ventilation system. The most important facility of reading room is not available to students. The furniture in libraries exists but it is insufficient and not similar to size of readers. Most of school libraries subscribed to newspaper but case is not same regarding magazines. Most importantly the availability of fund for the libraries is not provided for purchasing books but if it is provided in very limited amount because the budget is not prepared for yearly bases as well as the fund is being spent without planning. In all libraries government supplies books but in short number which is not appropriate for the development of education in coutry. So all the facilities like library, equipped staff should be prearranged on priority basis as to conserve our knowledge and astuteness for the coming generations of Pakistan.
