Scoring All matches will be best of three to 25 points using rally scoring. If a third set is required it will be played to 15 points and teams will change sides after one team scores 8 points. There will be a 30 point cap so if neither team has gained a two point advantage after 25 the first team to 30 is declared the winner. Court & dimensions The courts will be 9 meters by 18 meters. The net for men will be 2.43m and women 2.24m. The indoor courts do not have the required distance outside the end lines therefore the server may step over the end line up to the yellow line to serve. Equipment A players jersey must be uniform for the team (except for the Libero which should be of a contrasting color) and should be numbered on the front (min 15 cm) and back (min 20 cm) Ball We will be using composite leather Molton L2 on the indoor courts and a synthetic leather Star XQ Professional on the outdoor courts. Warm up Each team shall be guaranteed a 10 minute warm up prior to their first match of the day. No warm up with balls will be allowed after that. Serve It is allowed that the serve is hit out of the hand and not tossed. The serve must be struck not thrown. 5 seconds (not 8) will be allowed to initiate the serve after the whistle is blown. No second toss is allowed. Block A block in contact made by the defence above the plane of the net and does not count as a team hit. A blocker may touch the ball beyond the net provided that he/she does not interfere with the opponents play before or during the latters attack hit. A player interferes with the opponents play by (amongst others) touching the top band of the net or the top 80 cm of the antenna during his/her action of playing the ball Penetration under the net is allowed provided that it does not interfere with the opponents play. To touch the opponent's court with a foot (feet) is permitted, provided that some part of the penetrating foot (feet) remains either in contact with or directly above the centre line Substitutions A request for substitute is made by having the player going into the game line up at the side line between the attack line and the net with the player being replaced stand opposite them. They should remain there until the scorekeeper has recorded the substitution. If there is more than one substitution to be made during the same dead ball the other substitutes wait just

outside the sub zone and quickly enters upon completion of the previous substitute. There is no limit on the number of substitutions made in a set. Libero Only one libero is allowed in each set. A different libero may be designated for each set. They must wear a jersey of contrasting color and follow the rules set forth in the FIVB rule book. We will not track the libero. The libero may not serve. Time Out Two 30 second time outs are allowed each set. The captain or the coach may request the time out during the dead ball prior to the officials beckon for serve. Players must be ready to play at the end of the time out. Contact with the ball below the waist will NOT be allowed Net Contact Incidental contact of the net will not be called. On court warm up without volleyballs may take place while referees are preparing for the match or while waiting for another team to come from another court. There will be a designated area where teams may warm up with volleyballs outside on the elementary playground. Only players on the teams playing are allowed on the bench. Spectators and players from the other teams must sit in the spectator seating. There will be a concession stand run by the BIFS Bears Club open during the tournament. Only water is allowed in the court area. Food, power drinks, soda etc in not allowed in the game areas.
