PROBLEM DEFINITION
To develop hydraulic lift mechanism required to serve intermittent alternating vertical displacement of a load. The load may be of various magnitude within the capacity of the mechanism.

The development in existing hydraulic mechanism are done in 20-SIM modeling environment & focusing the aim at reduction of mechanical & human efforts by using hydraulic & electric actuator.

Introduction

A hydraulic lift is a type of machine that uses a hydraulic apparatus to lift or move objects using the force created when pressure is exerted on liquid in a piston. Force then produces "lift" and "work."

Principle of Hydraulic Lift

In the lift, with the use of a little force, an increase in pressure applied to the fluid in the small cylinder of its hydraulic system is transmitted to the fluid in the large cylinder of the system and results in a large upward force on the platform ( i.e., heavy objects can be lifted easily).

Components Used

Relief Valve
The relief valve (RV) is a type of valve used to control or limit the pressure in a system or vessel which can build up by a process upset, instrument or equipment failure, or fire *switch controlled Relief valve *220 V *50 Hz

Hydraulic Cylinder
Hydraulic cylinders get their power from pressurized hydraulic fluid, which is typically oil. The hydraulic cylinder consists of a cylinder barrel, in which a piston connected to a piston rod moves back and forth. The barrel is closed on each end by the cylinder bottom and by the cylinder head where the piston rod comes out of the cylinder.

20-SIM
20-sim is a modelling and simulation program that runs under Microsoft Windows. With 20sim you can simulate the behaviour of dynamic systems, such as electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems or any combination of these.

20-sim fully supports graphical modeling, allowing to design and analyze dynamic systems in a intuitive and user friendly way, without compromising power. 20-sim supports the use of components.

Conclusion
Specific mechanism is achieved which can hold a given selected load by obviating the need for auxiliary breaking & shut-off devices. The mechanism is adaptable to conventional electric control such as flow directing buttons in the car & at fluid landings & multiple speed operation including smooth acceleration from & deceleration to the fluid levels. Our project resulted with simplified structure at reduced overall initial expenses & inherently characterized by materially reduced of operating cost.
