WORKPLAN (Study field: Pre-Islamic period and Koran)

Taking into consideration the fact that the interest for pre-Islamic poetry was shown from early times (by the publication of Divan of Imru-l-Kajsi with 25 poems, Paris, 1837), and also, taking into account that a high number of studies and treatments was written on that topic, out of which it is worth mentioning from Dr. Taha Husejn, I believe that, for my doctoral studies, I will be able to give a modest contribution in this field.

For the first time, I was acquainted with Arab literature during the academic year 2000/2001, on the second year of my studies. At this time, I have translated some verses from Muaalaka of Imru-l-Kajsi, Antara ibn Sheddad and Tarafa ibnu-l-Abdit, from Arabic into Albanian. Also, I have translated some fragments of the work of Ibn Mukaffea, Kalila ve Dimna.

During my stay in Riyadh (2002-2004), I have deepened my research in this field and since then, I have continuously shown interest for the pre-Islamic language and poetry style, in comparison to Koran language and style.

Therefore, my workplan will be focused in following topics, by which I believe that a topic for doctoral studies will be appointed through the consultations with my mentor:

1. Literary genres in pre-Islamic poetry; 2. The style of some pre-Islamic poets (Imru-l-Kajs, Antara ibn Sheddad, Zuhejr ibn Ebi Sulma, Lebid ibn Rebia ...); 3. Stylistic figures in Koran; 4. Non-Arabic words in Koran are there any? 5. The rhyme ( )in pre-Islamic poetry and in Koran (;)

Perhaps, during my research, I may find some old manuscript in this field, which would be important to be treated from philological aspect and as such, to be prepared for doctoral dissertation.
