What a terrific way to help your colleagues embrace and use new technology. Too many times we expect people to pick up these things on their own which results in a failed implementation. What has been the feedback from the faculty in regard to the training? Is there anything you would do differently (in addition to the ideas you included in your last two sentences)? Exp. Briefly describe this field-based internship experience, including your specific role (1/2 page). My specific role in this experience was highlighted teacher that utilizes technology in the classroom. I was on the team that was given SmartBoards a few years back. As a Millenial teacher I soaked up the technology and utilized it from the get go. On my own I helped out many other teachers who asked for it and offered suggestions and advice daily. My mentor (principal) noticed this and a few other highlighted teachers who were just as skilled if not more skilled than me with the schools technology. He gave us time to collaborate with each other and share ideas. After a few sessions of this, we were to present and host a professional development session over utilizing the technology on three different levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. I ran the intermediate session. Over the course of the school year we had 6 sessions, and I was able to check up on the teachers and answer any questions. Reflect on what you have learned from this experience, from mentor discussions, and how you will use this learning in future administrative leadership roles (no more than 1/2 page). The principal was very smart in doing this. He utilized teachers to help teachers. A take away from this experience is going to be the managing an effective use of the teachers in the building. I know that not every teacher will be comfortable running a professional development. I hope that I will know my teachers well enough to know who I can utilize in which situations. Maybe the teacher who is hesitant to be in front of their peers can create a few examples for the brave ones to use, or take email questions from their peers. Overall I need to be aware of my all-star teachers and utilize them and foster a professional teaching relationship with the other teachers.
