Elite Paint is one of the leading manufacturers of paints in Bangladesh. The company is operating in this particular industry for almost 57 years and it is one of the oldest names in the paint industry of Bangladesh. The founder of the Elite Chemical Industries Limited, late Mr. Serajuddin Ahmed came to East Pakistan from India in 1947 (after the partition) and started his business in a small scale. After completion of his study, in 1952, late Mr. Serajuddin Ahmed established a small paint manufacturing factory by the name of Elite Chemical Industries. The company started its journey with a small manufacturing base, tiny capital and simple machinery. The company started producing and marketing their products to the local market at that particular time and now Elite is one of the renowned paint manufacturers in the country. At this point of time Elite offers all kinds of painting solutions in decorative, industrial and in marine segment for both decorative and protective purpose. Elite paint has a strong marketing network throughout the country. The company has their head office in Dhaka and they have their marketing operation in different zones like Dhaka, Chittagong. Noakhali, Sylhet, Rangamati, Bogra, Barisal, Kustia and Khulna. Theses zone are also covering few areas and the company is trying to expand their business around the country. Elite Paints began its painting in Bangladesh since independence. Over the decades, Elite has evolved to becoming the leading paint solution provider in this country and has diversified into every sphere of the industry - from Decorative Paints to Industrial Coatings, from Marine Coatings to Powder Coating and what not. Elite has invested more on technology and Research & Development (R & D) than any other manufacturer in this market. Elite paint BD limited is one of the biggest companies in paint industry. Its Organization structure becomes a little complicated than before. It is organized on functional basis. It is consisted of more than 300 employees of whom about 160 are general workers and the rest are white color employee. These employees are working in different factories and depots of the company.

The positional hierarchy of the company is starts with the Managing Director, then Director, then Executive=II, under him is Executive=I, under him is the Senior Manager, then the Manager, then the Assistant Manager and finally the officers (I, II, III, IV).


On product lines, Elite Paints Bangladesh Ltd. can be differentiated into decorative, Industrial and Marine paints.

Decorative Products: The objective is to beautify the surfaces with protection from corrosion and erosion. This business category mainly targets household segment and products are being offered to the consumers through a dealer network. Products fulfill the aesthetic value of the consumers. This section constitutes the major revenue earning business area of Elite Paints Bangladesh Ltd. Decorative products include luxury silk, Robbialac Acrylic Plastic Emulsion, Robbialac Easy clean, Robbialac Super Gloss Synthetic Enamel (RSE), Robbialac Acrylic Distemper (SPD), Weather Coat Smooth, Robbialac Aluminium Paint, Elite illusions, Elite color bank products, Robbialac Zinc Phosphate Primer, Robbialac Synthetic Undercoat, etc Industrial protective coatings: These are tailor made products used to cater to the specific needs of customers. These products give protection to the surfaces in extreme situations like severe hazardous environment, high temperature, movement of heavy materials and machinery etc. Direct marketing approach is being used to promote the

Elite Home Dcor is currently offering wide range of services to its prospects and existing consumers. The Interview Selection Panel The role of the Interview Selection Panel is to assess the comparative merits of each applicant, based on the selection criteria and recommend suitable applicants with the greatest merit for interview and overseeing the eventual appointment of the most suitable candidate for the vacant position on offer.

The Shortlist Once the application deadline has closed, the Selection Panel will assess the applications to determine who will be invited to interview. This process is known as short listing. During short listing, selection panel members compare all applicants against the essential and desirable selection criteria in order to: eliminate unsuitable applicants, and Identify applicants who best match the required criteria. Only the most applicants who demonstrate that they meet the criteria will be considered for interview.

The Interview Only Candidates selected for interview will be contacted by phone, fax or email shortly after the closing date. Compensation Policies
Elite paints Ltd is concentrating on competitive compensation package for its all level of employees to ensure to retain and motivates its employees. To gain competitive advantage it has conducted salary survey. It is highly encourage performing its employees the best because Elite paints Ltd will maintain performance based compensation system. On the other hand, promotion and salary increment will obviously depends on the performance of the employee in a fiscal year. Other allowances will be provided based on the organizational hierarchy. The compensation packages of the company is discussing below: Basic Salary Basic Salary is the salary, which is paid by the company to the employees for work performed. That means Basic salary is the Salary will provide based on the individual skills and knowledge and the salary sheet is given in the appendix. Festival Bonus Employees will be given two annual bonuses in the two Eid Festival. Same as basic salary bonus on two Eid Festivals each, which will be settled on the basis of their basic salary Increments An increment is defined as the increase in the salary according to the performance of the employees. Elite paints Ltd would provide increment to the salary of the employees according to the satisfactory performance. House Rent All employees of Elite paints Ltd would be provided 40% house rent of the basic salary to the top-level management and for mid level and low level employees, up to 55% of the basic salary. Medical Allowances To ensure that everyone within the company fill secure about their health related issues and to be motivated towards the work Elite paints Ltd will provide BDT200 to BDT1, 000. From the top to bottom every level of employees within the company will receive the same amount of medical allowance in every month.

Utility Bills All employees of Elite paints Ltd would be provided utility bills which will include gas, water, telephone and electricity bills. Utility bills are based on basic salary and it is variable. Traveling Allowance and Daily Allowance (TADA) Only lower level employees will get TADA allowance. Employee whose salary is below BDT 10,000 will get this allowance BDT30 to BDT 50 per day. Stock Option Employee whose salary is above BDT 35,000 will get stock option. Transportation Facilities Employees whose basic salary is equal to or more than BDT 26,000 will get car facilities and employees whose salary ranges from BDT 10,000 to BDT 25,000 will get company staff bus facilities.

Performance Appraisal

Performance appraisal is a method by which the performance of an employee is measured generally in terms of Quality, Quantity, Cost and Time. The roots of Performance Appraisal can be found in F. W. Taylor's Time and Motion study. Performance appraisals are a regular review of employee performance within organizations.

The aim of performance Appraisal of Elite paints Ltd will be

Give feedback on performance to employees. Identify employee training needs. Document criteria used to allocate organizational rewards. Provide the opportunity for organizational diagnosis and development. Facilitate communication between employee and administrator. Payment for Time Worked

Overtime- Non-exempt employees are eligible to receive overtime pay if they work more than 40 hours in a given week. Holiday, vacation, and sick time are not included in hours used to determine overtime eligibility. Overtime pay equals 1.5 times and employees regular hourly rate. All overtime must be approved the manager in advance.

Shift differentials- Employees required working shifts outside the standard Saturday through Thursday daytime work hours.

Excluding holidays, shift differentials will run at 10 percent of base pay for both hourly and salaried employees. Shift durations at 8-hour increments regardless of start time. Additional compensation for working night shift - 10 p.m. 6 a.m., Employees receive an extra 15% of their base pay for all hours worked during that time. Eligibility for shift differentials varies between hourly and salaried employees, with hourly employees far more likely to receive a shift differential. The calculation of paid time-off for employees working 2nd and/or 3rd shifts will be done at the same rate as employees on regular work hours.

Leave & Holiday pay

Religious Holiday

Agencies should make reasonable accommodation for the religious holiday needs of employees, unless accommodation will result in undue hardship to the agencies. Also there will be break time for Muslim employees of Friday and other weekdays for prayer.

Informal Leave

Employees would be entitled to 21 (twenty) days (excluding weekends and Holidays) informal leave in a calendar year during his/her contract period and s/he may apply for maximum 3 (three) days leave at a stress.

Uncertified Sick Leave

Privileged is 3 (three) days in a calendar year but not more than 2 (two) consecutive days for illness.

Certified Sick Leave

Entitlement is 30 (thirty) days (including weekends and holidays) in a calendar year.

Maternity Leave

A member of staff who is eligible, as defined above; to receive Occupational Maternity Pay will receive full pay during their period of Ordinary Maternity Leave.

Elite paints Ltd will provide maternity leave of 8 weeks before expected delivery and 8 weeks after delivery (total 16 weeks) full paid. Staff who will be working in the organization for at least 6 months, having 2 children will get annually a fixed amount of monetary payment based on their salary range.

Funeral Leave

Employees will be paid for up to five days to attend the funeral of a close relative, such as a spouse, children, parents, grandparents, siblings and corresponding in-laws.

Employee Benefits Policy Employee benefits, sometimes called fringe benefits, are those rewards that employees receive for being members of the organization and for their positions in the organization. Unlike wages, salaries, and incentives, benefits are usually not related to employee performance.

Every religion has some value; we will never violate any religious value and will make our employees feel comfortable in the workplace. Vesting Requirements Elite paints will provide employees with a no forfeitable right to the funds they contribute to the plans on behalf of their employees after a specified period, commonly five years. For example, employees who terminate their employment after five years maintain the right to the funds contributed on their behalf by the employer. However, employees who terminate their employment before the five year period forfeit the right to the funds contributed on their behalf by the employer.
