So Sandvik can supply you with everything you need to optimize your screening process - and guarantee performance! Screens for all applications Vibrating equipment commonly used for separating different grades of crushed minerals uses either stratication (screening with a vibrating bed) or free-fall screening. Conventional screens used in the aggregate industry have great versatility as regards separation limits and material size processed. They work on the stratication principle; the vibration of the machine sifts the material bed so that ner material passes through the coarser material. This enables particles smaller than the mesh of the screen to pass through it. Screens operating on the free-fall principle have been developed as an alternative to conventional screens. They are used successfully in both mobile and stationary plant. Sandvik have further developed simple free-fall screening by building each deck in several sections and optimizing the inclination of the deck sections. Free-fall screens can be built much shorter and with smaller footprint than conventional screens of comparable capacities. Sometimes, non-abrasive, soft or sticky materials and materials with high moisture content are best screened with equipment that does not rely on vibration as an operating principle. Sandvik offers roller screens that are ideal for careful screening of such materials. Take a closer look at the Sandvik range of machines and media. The people at Sandvik are the people who can help you optimize your screening process!

MASTER-FLO
Wide offering of a highly reliable screen
Sandviks Master-Flo screen is one of the most common types of screen on the market. This sturdy, highly reliable screen comes in three different types and Sandvik can offer it in a wide range of sizes.

Master-Flo GS The Master-Flo GS (Grizzly Screen) screens are recommended for installation between a primary feeder and a primary crusher. Typical feed material is blasted rock, ripped rock or gravel with high nes content, often containing difcult wet natural nes or clay. The Master-Flo GS screens have a single grizzly or plate type of scalping deck with the option of a second deck with woven wire. Master-Flo GS screens immediately after a primary feeder gives more effective scalping than a primary feeder with a built-in grizzly. The stroke and speed of a Master-Flo GS remains constant while the feed rate is adjusted by varying the feeder speed providing efcient separation at all times. Master-Flo XS The Master-Flo XS (Xtraheavy Screen) screens are built with extra heavy-duty applications in mind. They are circular motion inclined screens with two or three decks, and can be tted with wire mesh, polyurethane and rubber screening media or steel plate on the top deck. The Master-Flo XS screens are heavy and have more powerful motors and drives than a regular circular motion screen. Master-Flo XS screens have been designed for screening immediately after a primary crushing operation, allowing a maximum feed size of up to 400 mm. Master-Flo CS The Master-Flo CS (Classication Screen) screens are intended for heavy-duty, medium and ne screening applications. The screens are circular motion inclined screens in two, three and four deck designs. Standard inclination is 18-20 degrees, depending on the size of the machine. The decks can be equipped with any kind of modern screening media of polyurethane and rubber, wire mesh or steel plate. The Master-Flo CS range of screens is built for general quarrying applications and with a separation range from 80 mm to 2 mm. The maximum feed size is generally limited to 150 mm, depending somewhat on the selected screening media. The Master-Flo CS screens can also be used as splitter screens to divide ows within a plant and are frequently used for nal screening of nished fractions. This range is also available with a successful water spray system.

LINEL-FLO, MSO & MGS

Maintenance friendly, high-capacity screens
These Sandvik screen models are all heavy-duty machines, designed with a high carrying capacity and a high G-force. The high adjustability and maintainability of the screens are some of the main advantages. No extra space is required to maintain them, the mesh is easy to unbolt, and you can work on them in any type of environmental condition. Linel-Flo The horizontal Linel-Flo screen series has been purposedesigned for classication screening duties as well as for scalping ore ahead of a cone crusher in mining applications. Linel-Flo screens are available with 1, 2 or 3 decks but also with half decks as an option. Linel-Flo is an excellent choice where the height is limited by surrounding facilities, for the screening of small and short fractions and when heavy material is loaded on the screen. Linear or elliptical stroke improves the screening. Linel-Flo has a maximum feed size up to 300 mm and a separation range from 100-1 mm. MSO The MSO inclined screen has circular motion stroke in the center of the screen and elliptical stroke at the feed and discharge end. The primary advantage of that is that it increases the material speed at the feed end while at the same time it decreases the material speed at the discharge end. It is evident that the combined effect of these aspects will result in a more accurate screening. Screens are available with 1, 2 or 3 decks in the standard range of screens and half decks are available as an option. The MSO is a classication screen just like the Linel-Flo screen. The most signicant difference between these two units is that the MSO has only one vibrating mechanism. MSO has a maxmum feed size up to 300 mm and a separation of 140-2 mm. Mechanism grizzly The MGS screens have been designed specically for heavy scalping duties with the main purpose of removing nes from the feed before primary crushing. In conjunction with a facility for bypassing nes ahead of the crusher, MGS screens can be combined with Hydrostroke feeders when heavy dump loads and high capacities are required. All MGS screens have their vibrating mechanism mounted under the feed pan. The double shaft mechanism generates an elliptical stroke, which consequently means better feeding as well as a sustained material speed on the screen. MGS screens are available with 2, 3 and 4 grizzly steps for the single deck models, depending on the size of the screen. The double deck models are equipped with three grizzly steps on the top deck and wire or rubber media on the bottom deck. The drive unit incorporates two motors with cardan shafts meaning that neither gearbox nor gearwheels are necessary - the mechanism is self-synchronizing. The components of the mechanism are mainly the same as for the Linel-Flo and MSO screens. MGS has a maximum feed size up to 500 mm and a separation of up to 250 mm.

FREE-FLO & FREE-CLASSIFIER

Flexible free-fall screens
Free-Flo The main advantage of the Free-Flo screens is their ability to handle large loads of material in comparison to their modest size. Free-Flo is often used instead of a slot sizer for removal of natural nes before crushers for separation of material for different crushing stages and for nal products of natural gravel, e.g., scalping, closed circuit screening and nal product screening of gravel. Suitable screening media are rubber, wire or plate elements for the top deck, and wire mesh at the lower deck(s). The free-fall screening principle enables quick removal of large amounts of nes, using step deck inclination and effective linear stroke almost perpendicular to the deck. The free-fall screening principle also gives low accuracy, as the velocity of oversize particles is quite high, consequently each particle has a limited number of chances to pass a slot. The heavy-duty version of Free-Flo, FFx, is normally used after larger crushers, giving a maximum feed size of over 150 mm. The three different frame models associated with the Free-Flo range can be seen in the summary on the right-hand page: Free-Flo, S-version: Standard duty, Free-Flo, H-version: Heavy-duty and Free-Flo, X-version: Extra heavy-duty. Free-Classier Free-Classiers share some of the same basic design principles of the Free-Flo screen. The Free-Classier screen incorporates two different screening sections on each deck. This provides a free-fall action in the rst section and a more accurate stratication in the second section. The result is a combination of the high capacity associated with free-fall screening and the good separation accuracy known from horizontal screening. Another positive side effect is the compactness of the machine. Free-Classiers are offered in three sizes, which are approximately 35 percent more effective than conventional screens in terms of a footprint area comparison. This gure will be even greater with evaluation of a complete station, due to its lightweight design, consequently giving extremely low dynamic loads to the structure.

FREE-FLO FF1012S FF1012X The free-fall screening principle ensures a free ow of material through all the decks. Free-Flo can be of much shorter construction and more compact than is the case with conventional screens. Free-Fall screening ensures that each stone can pass the screen early on. The cloth is always exposed to new material, without creating a bed of material. Free-Classier

Free-Classier screens use free-fall screening without a bed on the rst part of each deck, but combine it with stratication screening with a bed on the nal part. Therefore, Free-Classier screens combine quick nes removal and accurate sizing, making possible much shorter construction of the screen than with a conventional screen, but with the same width throughput capacity and screening accuracy.

ROLLER SCREENS
Your choice for sticky material
Sandvik Roller screens are excellent for handling sticky material. All models are non-vibrating and very easy to dust and noise encapsulate.

Roller Grizzly The Roller Grizzly (RSP) has been designed for scalping and screening duties of low abrasive materials with an Abrasion Index (Ai) below 0.03, such as limestone and coal. Roller Grizzly is compact and its ability to handle high capacities and moist material has been proven in many applications. Roller Grizzly is available for both primary and secondary duties, depending on the maximum feed size. In order to achieve the best possible screening results it is important to spread the feed along the entire width of the screen. The drop height of the material should be as low as possible since the screen doesnt sit on top of springs to absorb the impact energy. Roller Screens Roller Screens RSR, RSS and RSF have been primarily designed for coal and lignite screening. These screens are superior to vibrating equipment when the material is sticky and exhibits high moisture content. No vibration is transferred to the support structure and the compact size and high capacity range make these screens highly competitive. Roller Screen RSR has been built for ROM (run of mine): coal screening. Roller Screen RSS is best used for secondary applications: to screen washed coal. Roller Screen RSF for 4-20 mm screening: screening in one dimension only. Roller Screen Crusher Roller Screen Crusher RSC has been purpose designed to remove impurities of commercial coal as well as to crush down existing coal lumps to acceptable sizes in coal-red power plants. Roller Screen Crusher comes complete with dust encapsulation, pre-screen, two crusher drums and after-screen. A pre-crusher might be necessary to put on top of the pre-screen if many lumps, such as frozen coal, are present. The crusher drums have a releasing mechanism to enable wood pieces, stones and other impurities to be rejected. The sensitivity of the release mechanism is adjustable.

SCREEN SELECTION GUIDE

Screening duties: Scalping Scalping means that requirements for separation accuracy are low and feed rates high. Suitable machines for coarse scalping with separation > 100 mm are a vibrating grizzly feeder or an extra robust free-swinging, circular-motion screen with bar or pin grizzlies lined with heavy-duty rubber. Suitable machines for scalping of ner material with separation < 100 mm are a compact free-fall screen, a conventional Master-Flo or an MSO circular motion screen with rubber elements. Closed-circuit Closed circuit screening normally means high capacities and reasonable accuracy requirements. The separation size is often within 16 to 100 mm. Suitable machines are: a compact freefall screen, a conventional Master-Flo or an MSO circular motion screen with rubber elements. Multiple decks are often used to reduce the bed thickness in applications with a large proportion of circulating material. Final fractioning This duty requires a screen with good separation accuracy. Suitable machines for small separations <16 mm: a free-swinging linear/elliptical-motion Linel-Flo screen, a free fall Free-Classier screen or in some cases a circular-motion Master-Flo screen. We normally recommend wire or special rubber elements. When demands for separation accuracy are not too severe or if the fractions are longer, a free-swinging circular-motion screen can be selected. Polyurethane screening media is recommended for wet screening.
