    Dimension line: It is drawn between two extension lines parallel to the objects line.

    It is thin continuous line Extension line: It is thin continuous line drawn in extension of an out line. BIS had recommended that a gap of about 1mm should be kept between the extension line and an out line or object boundary. It extends by about 3mm beyond the dimension line.

    Arrow head: An arrowhead drawn at each end of a dimension line. The size of an arrowhead should be proportional to the thickness of the outlines. The length of the arrowhead should be about three times its maximum width.
