Article 15- NO DISCRIMINATION ON GROUNDS OF RELIGION, RACE, CASTE, ETC.

Article 15 , 15(1)
The guarantee given under Article 15 includes only

citizens.
Article 15(1) prohibits discrimination of citizens on

grounds only of religion, race , caste , sex or place of birth or any of them.

Article 15(2)
It prohibits citizens as well as states from

making such discrimination with regard to access to shops, hotels, etc as well places of public entertainment.

Article 15(3)
It empowers the state to make special

provisions for protection of women and children.

Article 15(4)
It was added by constitutional 1st amendment act 1951.
Enables the state to make special provision for

protection of the interests of backward classes of citizens.
