The Application of the Percentage Equation


The mathematical statistical results in each novel have been calculated through multiplying the occurrence of each strategy in the three stages of argumentation by 100, and dividing it by the total number of situations (Cited in web source 4). That is, the following formula has been applied:

Percentage = occurrence of each strategy total number of situations

So, in Jane Eyre, the occurrence of each strategy in the process of argumentation is presented in the following table, and the total number of situations is (8):
