2ASI
BANDWIDTH SAVING AND OPTIMIZATION ARCHITECTURE
FOR TRANSMISSIONS MEDIUMS (FIBER, CABLE & SATELLITE)

ABSTRACT
Satellite, cable and fiber bandwidths are expensive and limited commodities.
Traditional MCPC (Multiple Channels Per Carrier) , multiplexing and modulation schemes for
video and audio broadcasts allow a successive number (1,2,3.. n) of compressed and packetized
streams to be combined onto a single carrier. Regardless of the mechanism, the process
ultimately increases the total data rate output and consequently the bandwidth.

ASI1 + ASI2 +ASIn = Total bandwidth + Processing Latency (Lt)

As the formula shows, despite optimizing encoder "compression" and transmission

"modulation" schemes (32APSK, 256APSK etc...) bandwidth resources will always reach a
maximum restriction.

INTRODUCTION
2ASI allows two (or more) similar packet structure data streams (ASI or alternate) to be
mapped over the bandwidth of a single stream by utilizing Quantum Mechanical Wave-function
Switching.

ASI + ASI = 2ASI + Processing latency (Lt)

HOW
Due to their wave/particle states, electrons orbiting the nucleus of atoms keep their
location and trajectory hidden. That state is described with the help of mathematical wave-
functions which predicts the status of the electron once the nucleus is probed.

Simultaneously, by obeying the Pauli principle, only two electrons possessing opposite spin
states are allowed to share orbits around the nucleus.

The 2ASI hypothesis proposes mapping the "electrical" impulses of two identical data streams
onto two separate low frequency carriers thereby imbuing them with quantum particle/wave
duality features.

TRADITIONAL MCPC
Below is an example of a "traditional" transmission schemes with two data signals.

ASI = 5 Mbps @ standard latency @ 5MHz bandwidth

ASI = 5 Mbps @ standard latency @ 5MHz bandwidth

ASI + ASI = 10 Mbps @ standard latency (at 10 MHz bandwidth)

TWO STREAMS = DOUBLE BANDWIDTH @ STANDARD LATENCY

2ASI
Below is an alternate, bandwidth saving method for combining data streams.

In 2ASI mode, two (or more) separate electrical impulses will be mapped onto two RF carriers
of slightly different frequencies then passed into a vacuum chamber containing Helium which
will serve the role of a "quantum switch".

By probing helium atoms and selecting positive (protons) or negative (electrons) the "switch
mechanism" will be able to selectively reveal one of the RF carriers and allowing it to pass
through to the next processing stage.

By alternating the probing function of the nucleus, this process will allow both RF streams to
simultaneously, via negative/positive timed switching to occupy the bandwidth of a single RF
stream.

4

Quantum mechanical switching will map and merge two out of phase RF carriers so both
streams occupy the bandwidth of a single stream (or an average thereof).

At its core, 2ASI solves the need (at least temporarily) for additional transmission resources by
doubling existing channel capacities.

POSSIBLE DRAWBACK
One possible drawback to this method vs. traditional high order modulation and
multiplexing is the potential introduction of additional latency to the transmission channel. This
may however prove negligible particularly if the 2ASI method is used for programming
backhaul distribution where latency is of no consequence (DISH, DIRECTV, COMCAST CABLE
etc...).
