Urban Teacher Scholarship Application

The Urban Teacher Scholarship helps support entering MEd students who want to become certified teachers in Chicagos urban schools. To be eligible students must apply to and enroll in one of the MEd certification programs in any term, have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0, and demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is a $1200 award applied to tuition and fees for new MEd students in their first fall semester of matriculation, matched with a tuition waiver for the following spring semester. Your scholarship application will be matched with your application for admission, so your academic record and transcripts will be pulled from your admission file. In addition, please write an essay about your commitment to teaching in urban schools. Discuss what inspired this commitment, and describe your financial need for funding. Please write your essay on a separate page, and include with this application. It should be no longer than 500 words. The deadline for submission is May 15.
