Human Resources in Healthcare Plymouth State University Fall 2010 WELCOME TO CLASS!!! My name is Diane Holmes.

I am pleased to be your instructor for this course. The field of Human Resources is truly exciting. The material presented in this course is meant to provide an overview of the scope of the field. Many of the areas we will touch upon, could serve as stand alone courses themselves such as compensation administration and organization development. In the biography you provide, please specify particular areas of interest. To begin, read the course syllabus thoroughly. Each week there is a reading assignment and there are 6 graded written assignments due on Sunday, 5:00 p.m as specified in the Learning Module. The assignments are worth a total of 30 points, 5 points each. I will typically not accept an assignment that is submitted after the due date. This means that if an assignment is late, zero points are given. Extenuating circumstances will be considered. The other course requirements are: A quiz 15 points due September 26th at 5:00 p.m. An individual case 20 points due October 31st at 5:00 p.m. A final project 35 points due November 30th at 5:00 p.m. Further information on these course requirements is included in the syllabus and in the grading information folder. For the written assignments, please use Microsoft Word and save files in a rich text format. Upload assignments in the Assignment Dropbox. Use Microsoft Word for the individual case, and either Microsoft Word or Power Point, for the final project. All work is to be created and submitted individually unless otherwise approved.
