Referral Activity 5/6th Grade

Mike is a 5th grade student. He has a couple of friends, but several students do not like him because he tends to be really bossy and always want his way. You (the teacher) have had a couple issues with him, but when you call home his parents think you are out to get him and that their son is not doing anything wrong. While at the school store one day, Mike keeps talking about how he wants an iphone eraser, but that his parents wont give him any money. A couple days later, Susan comes to you saying that someone stole a couple of dollars from her backpack. When asked how she knows it was stolen, she said that she keeps it in a zippered pouch of her backpack and it couldnt have fallen out. She also says that her friend told her that Mike took it. Sure enough, when Mike comes back to class he has several new erasers from the school store. How would you write this referral, how would you talk to the students, and what would you say to parents when you call home?

Toss-A-Story
Dear Diary, Today was the craziest day at school!!! When I showed up, there were no spaces in the parking lot because it was filled with _______________. I went inside and slipped on a __________________ and it made me so _______________. It didnt end there. My coworker, ________________, told me to go upstairs to see what was in the teachers lounge. Can you believe it?? There was a ___________________, ____________________, and ____________________. There was also a sign that said for the rest of the day, all teachers had to ______________________________________. Finally the morning started and all my kids came into my classroom. The first thing they said to me was, _____________ ___________________________________________________ But luckily, the day got better because ____________________ ___________________________________________________. Love, _________________________
