Power Spud Barges

These Power Spud Barges are outfitted with a self contained power units to raise and lower spuds. The units can be friction or hydraulically operated. The barges usually have a boxed stern providing maximum flotation while operating a crane over stern. The uses of Power Spud barges are particularly applicable in reducing the need for a crane for setting of spuds. These barges are ideal platforms for soil sampling, truck mounted equipment, and crane work requiring quick site relocation. Some barges are outfitted with pipe coring holes inserted through the deck and bottom.
